Burning Questions from Workshop

What is the best and easiest way to communicate out product?

How can we engage people who have given up on our town? How do we get them to a meeting?

What should you do if you find that one of the enlisted or volunteer storycatchers is continually shutting down our storytellers or saying they are wrong?

Is it better to pair storytellers and catchers who know each other or are strangers?  Who are very different or would have a lot in common?

How are we/is DPAC going to synthesize this info, these tools and techniques to make decision about the most effective, efficient way to elicit the community story?

Do we engage different parts of our brain when we tell stories?

How can we weave together storytelling and other H & S activities to inform the town vision and future action?

How storytelling will be an ongoing process or is it a one-time activity?

How do we convince people that storytelling connects to town planning? (and how does it connect?)

Tapping into tradition of storytelling that is still alive?  Organic venues? Oral tradition still alive?

How does a story get converted into useful planning input?  Community vision for planning?

What is a story?  (And what is not?)

How do we get the people  to open up and talk about the town or whatever?

How will we create the trust/excitement that will make this approach seem obvious and necessary (to the communty)?

If we pull "values" from people's stories are we not interpreting them in our biased view?

How do we actually put this information on the different media and make it useful?

How can we bring a culture of people back to the downtown that has historically been reticent or emotionally affected---i.e. discrimination, etc.?

Can we make this process easier?  Can we just ask people to reflect or respond or shout out or something---and get community values from that?

Should storytelling follow the script or should it be more casual?

How to integrate more traditional "history" type stories with a land-use oriented approach?

How do we get everyone on the same page--to speak the correct message?

How does a story get converted into useful planning input? Community vision for planning?

Does a non people person have a soul?
